Winner of the 2025 Ricard Viñes Scholarship


Born in 2005, Andrea Budau began her musical studies at the Municipal Conservatory of Lleida, with Encarna Monzó as her oboe teacher. In 2017, she won the BBVA Music Prize for individual talent in the junior category, as well as the ACCat Prize for the best performance of a Catalan work. In 2022, she was a finalist in the same competition.

She has been a member of several ensembles, including the Jove Orquestra Nacional de Catalunya alevins, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Young, Banda Simfònica Unió Musical de Lleida and Nationaal Jeugdorkest, among others.

In 2023, she entered the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where she is currently completing the fourth and final year of her Bachelor’s degree with Aisling Casey. In November 2025, she was awarded the first edition of the Ricard Viñes Scholarship.
