Requirements
In this section, you will find the necessary requirements to complete your registration for the Ricard Viñes International Piano Competition. Make sure to meet each of the listed criteria before proceeding with your application to ensure proper participation in the competition.
PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS

The competition is open to pianists of any nationality and gender born between June 24, 1990, and June 24, 2007 (ages 18 to 35).

Participants may compete a maximum of two times. Candidates participating for the second time must present a new programme.

Previous first-prize winners cannot participate again.

Relatives of jury members or pianists who have taken regular lessons from any jury member in the two years preceding the competition are not eligible to participate.
REGISTRATION

The registration deadline is April 10, 2025 (until 11:59 p.m., local time in Spain).

Registrations must be submitted through the registration form available on the official competition website.

Only registration forms that are fully completed and include all required documentation will be considered. These will be reviewed and forwarded to the pre-selection jury, which will also evaluate the audiovisual recording and conduct the pre-selection of candidates.

The Artistic Director and pre-selection jury will announce the list of pianists admitted to the 26th edition of the competition. Each candidate will receive an admission or rejection notification via email starting April 30, 2025.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION
- Personal details and contact information of the candidate.
- Copy of a valid passport or ID card.
- A recent high-resolution photograph (JPEG, 300 dpi) for the competition catalog.
- Curriculum vitae (maximum two pages) in Catalan, Spanish, English, French, or German, including studies, awards, distinctions, and concert experience.
- A brief biography (maximum one page) written in Catalan, Spanish, English, French, or German.
- A recent, dated, and signed recommendation letter written in Catalan, Spanish, English, French, or German.
- A recent video recording (less than 6 months old), of good quality and unedited, of two short piano solo pieces of contrasting musical styles (total video duration: maximum 10 minutes). The two pieces may be recorded separately and edited together into a single file. The recording can be from a concert, recital, or specifically made for the competition, with or without an audience. If a candidate selected for the first phase decides to withdraw before the competition, candidates on the waiting list may be invited to take their place, provided this occurs before June 15, 2025.
