Evaluation Process
At the Ricard Viñes International Piano Competition, each phase is rigorously assessed to ensure a transparent and impartial process. This section explains the selection procedures and what participants can expect throughout the competition.
EVALUATION PROCESS

Each phase of the competition is evaluated using strict criteria that ensure the impartiality and objectivity of the process.

During the pre-selection, the jury reviews the recordings submitted by the candidates to select the best contenders. During the live competition, each performance is scored by all jury members based on criteria such as technique, interpretation, and musical sensitivity.

This process ensures the transparency and professionalism of the competition, giving confidence to both participants and the public via qualitive evaluations.

The jury's decisions are final.

The jury will award all three main prizes as well as special prizes.

The jury's deliberations will be governed by internal rules, and the official document signed by all jury members will be available during the competition, upon request.

At the end of the first round and the semifinals, candidates who do not advance to the final may request notes from the jury members regarding their performances.

The names of the candidates selected for the semifinals and finals will be announced on the evening of June 25 (semi-finalists) and June 26 (finalists) in person at the Foyer of the Auditori Enric Granados, via email to all participants, and will be published on the competition's website and social media.

The three main prizes, as well as the special prizes, will be announced after the final on June 28.
