Rules
Review the participation requirements, registration details, travel and accommodation options, and the number of candidates accepted at each stage of the competition.
1. PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS

The competition is open to pianists of all nationalities and genders born between June 24, 1990, and June 24, 2007 (ages 18 to 35).

Participants may compete a maximum of two times. Candidates applying for the second time must present a new program.

Past winners of the first prize are not eligible to participate again.

Playing the repertoire from memory is not required.

Relatives of jury members or pianists who have received regular classes from a jury member in the two years prior to the competition are not eligible to participate.

All competition phases will be open to the public.
If a candidate selected in the first phase decides to withdraw before the competition, participants on the waiting list may be invited to take their place, provided they are informed before June 15, 2025.
2. REGISTRATION

The deadline for registration is April 10, 2025 (until 11:59 PM, local time in Spain).

Registration must be completed through the registration form available on the official competition website.

Only fully completed forms with all required documentation will be considered. These will be reviewed and sent to the preselection jury, who will evaluate the videos and shortlist candidates.

The Artistic Director and the preselection jury will announce the list of pianists admitted to the 26th edition of the competition. Each candidate will receive an admission or rejection notification via email starting from April 30, 2025.

Participants must submit the following documents through the registration section:
- Personal data and contact information.
- Copy of a valid passport or ID.
- Recent high-resolution photograph (JPEG, 300 dpi) for the competition catalog.
- Curriculum vitae (maximum two pages) in Catalan, Spanish, English, French, or German, including studies, awards, distinctions, and concert experience.
- Short biography (maximum one page) written in Catalan, Spanish, English, French, or German.
- A recent recommendation letter, dated and signed, written in Catalan, Spanish, English, French, or German.
- A recent video recording (less than 6 months old), of good quality and unedited, featuring two short solo piano pieces of contrasting musical styles (total duration: maximum 10 minutes). Both pieces may be recorded separately and edited together into a single file. The recording may be from a concert, recital, or specifically recorded for the competition, with or without an audience. Include the titles, composers’ names, and performance order in writing. See the Audiovisual Recording section for more information.
- Proof of registration fee payment (bank transfer receipt). The registration fee is €60, non-refundable in case of non-admission or elimination. Bank charges associated with the payment will be borne by the participant.
Upon registration, candidates will receive a confirmation email from the organization within 10 business days.
Participants authorize the competition organizers to verify the provided information as deemed necessary.
Failure to comply with these rules or refusal to accept jury decisions may result in exclusion from the competition, with no right of appeal. By submitting the registration form, the participant accepts the established rules.
